Mr. Hess started as a Supervisor/Foreman with C.T. Purcell, Inc. when he joined the company in February 2005. Mr. Hess was responsible for managing his own job sites by heading up a team underneath him and ensuring the daily on-site tasks were completed. Mr. Hess’ desire to grow within the company also led him to be the head of the GPS+ machine automation system for the company’s equipment as well as the site utility work.
In 2008, Mr. Hess moved into the office to assume estimating duties and eventually became head estimator where he remained until he was promoted to Senior Project Manager in 2018. Mr. Hess has an active hand in managing all projects and works directly with the President and CEO to promote communication between field superintendents and the office.
Mr. Hess has completed the OSHA 30 for Construction Course, is a Responsible Land Disturber Certificate Holder, is certified in First Aid/ CPR, holds certificates in the U.S. Corps of Engineers Construction Quality Management for Contractors course and DEQ Virginia SWM for Contractors and Operators course, and has the following certifications: General Mineral Miner, Lock Out/Tag Out, VDOT flagging, Laser Awareness and Trench and Excavation Competent Person Training (29 CFR 1926 Subpart P Standard).
